Fraud Warning
Fraud Warning: Protect Yourself From Loan Scams Impersonating KwikCash
We’ve become aware of a fraud scheme in which scammers are impersonating KwikCash, Inc. to deceive consumers into providing sensitive personal and banking information. This page explains what to look for and what to do if you’ve been contacted.
What the scam looks like
Scammers are sending fake loan agreements by email, falsely branded with the KwikCash name, and in some cases calling victims from a phone number that may appear to be a local Orange County number. These communications are not from KwikCash, Inc.
The fraudulent emails typically:
- Come from a non-KwikCash email address (often a free provider like Outlook, Gmail, or Yahoo)
- Reference a fake loan number and account number
- Request a copy of a government-issued photo ID
- Include a “Direct Debit Mandate” or similar section requesting your full bank account and routing numbers
- Cite fabricated regulatory language or fake verification requirements, sometimes referencing an “affordability check” or third-party verification process, to pressure you into providing financial information before any funds are released
How to verify a real KwikCash communication
Official KwikCash emails come only from addresses ending in @kwikcashonline.com. We will never contact you from a Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or other third-party email address.
We will never ask you to:
- Provide your bank account or routing number by email
- Pay a fee or “verify funds” before a loan is disbursed
- Provide a copy of your photo ID over email as a precondition for funding
If you receive a call from a number that appears to be a KwikCash number, but the caller asks for sensitive banking details upfront or pressures you to act quickly, treat it with the same caution. Caller ID can be falsified (“spoofed”) by scammers, so a familiar-looking number does not guarantee the call is legitimate.
What to do if you’ve been contacted
- Do not respond to the email or provide any information.
- Do not click any links or open any attachments in the message.
- Contact us directly using the form on our Contact page to verify whether a communication is legitimate. Do not reply to the suspicious email itself.
- If you’ve already provided personal or financial information, consider contacting your bank immediately and placing a fraud alert with the major credit bureaus.
Reporting the scam
If you believe you’ve been targeted, we encourage you to also report it directly to federal authorities:
- Federal Trade Commission (FTC): reportfraud.ftc.gov
- FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): ic3.gov
KwikCash, Inc. has reported this scheme to federal authorities and is actively working to have the fraudulent accounts and communications shut down.
